Week End

Apollo playing piano

Apollo Playing Piano

The picture above is of Apollo playing the piano – he loves climbing into my lap when I’m practicing piano. I think he’s starting to figure out that he can make sounds when his paws hit the keys…. I’ll let you know when he becomes the world’s marvel piano playing puppy :)

This has been one crazy week! Tuesday night Steven, a friend from church choir and I went to a performance of The Tristan Project at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. It is this presentation of Wagner’s opera Tristan und Isolde, with the orchestra on stage and singers with semi-staged acting. Then, on a huge screen above the stage, is projected a video by artist Bill Viola with these beautiful and symbolic sequences that take you through the entire opera. The effect was really amazing and so moving. Here are some still pictures of the video by Kira Perov, with what the images represent to me:

Wednesday night I ended up going to the live taping of American Idol “Idol Gives Back” at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Ellen was hosting, and we saw several musical acts (some good, most bad). All in all, there’s a lot going on :) And on that note, I would like to congratulate Michael and Keri, who were engaged tonight!!!! Welcome to the Sabonjohn family, Keri! :)
