Wedding Report
Congratulations to Richard and Katie Sykes! We flew in on the red eye Friday night, arriving early Saturday morning. We drove from Charlotte to Hendersonville and checked into a very nice hotel. After sleeping a few hours, we drove up the mountain to the village of Flat Rock for the wedding rehearsal. The wedding site was Katie’s dad’s house, on the lawn overlooking the mountains (see pictures!). The rehearsal dinner was at the house with the theme “Pirates and Princesses.” We went all out on the costumes, with Steven going as “Captain Morgan” and Victoria as a random renaissance princess. It was so much fun, and Steven’s costume was a huge hit.
Sunday morning we had breakfast with Aunt Sherree and Uncle Tommy, and it was so great to see them again! After taking a nap, we drove up the mountain for the wedding festivities! The highlights of the ceremony were: Richard’s face when he saw Katie, the butterfly release, and the way they looked at each other
:) After the ceremony we played on kazoos (yes that’s right, kazoo!) and then the party started. It was just a lovely wedding and we had such a nice time with everyone!
Thanks to Carlos who watched Apollo while we were gone! Enjoy the pictures below!
