Moving In

We are still in the process of moving in… you know how nothing happens like it’s supposed to.  Speaking of, want to hear the sordid tale of our move?    Well, you’re still reading so I guess so J  Saturday, June 30 we dropped some things off at the house and they were just starting to tear down this wall that separates the living room from the kitchen.  As you may have guessed, things didn’t move as quickly as they had hoped and so they’re still working on the wall while the movers (two grumpy Russians) were moving our furniture into the house on Sunday, July 1.  Because of the work we were unable to put anything in the living room or kitchen, so everything is shoved in the other rooms with the door closed.  They worked until 10:00 pm Sunday night and finished yesterday.  The final product looks great, except that everything (including our furniture that was shoved in a corner of the living room) is covered with construction dust.  Also, the tile for the transition between the kitchen and living room was laid yesterday, and we can’t get in there until probably tomorrow so that it can dry.  So, it looks like we will be spending our Fourth of July holiday cleaning and finally unpacking.   As irritating as all of this is, the house really is going to be so nice we are still really happy J  When I came home yesterday, Steven was on the front porch with Apollo.  I got out of my car and Apollo came bounding down the walkway into my arms… the sun was shining… birds were chirping… it was wonderful and really was just like that!
