Riders in the Sky for Fourth of July

Hey that rhymes!  After the crazy move the last thing any sane person would do is go to a Hollywood Bowl concert- but then again, you know who you’re talking to.  We were able to get comp box seats to the concert Monday, July 2 at the Hollywood Bowl.  The theme was the salute to the American cowboy, honoring John Wayne and Gene Autry.  The featured guests were Riders in the Sky, a country western group that specializes in the old cowboy songs.  http://www.ridersinthesky.com/

My parents loved Riders in the Sky, and as kids we knew all of their songs.  They even performed with the Jacksonville Symphony once, and my parents invited them over their house for a barbeque!

We went with two friends and had such a great time – well, I sure did!  The music was great, Riders were just like I remembered them, and then the fireworks at the end were probably the best we’ve ever seen.  Good times!
