Halloween Candy
We were very excited to learn from our landlord that we could have up to 40 trick-or-treaters on Halloween. The past two years in the apartment building there weren’t any kids, so we were looking forward to giving out candy for the first time. I bought three small to medium size bags of candy and thought that it would probably be enough. Wednesday night we rushed home after work to hand out candy to the droves of trick-or-treaters we imagined were looking sadly at our empty house. We only had one until about 8:00 pm, when all of a sudden they came in a steady stream of kids through teenagers, who were on the edge of being too old for asking for Halloween candy. When they kept coming Steven made an emergency run to the grocery store to get more candy, because the last thing we wanted to do was to run out! Of course it started to slack off and by 9:45 pm the street was quiet. Good thing the candy he bought was stuff we liked! We had a great time and were very pleased with our first Halloween in the neighborhood.
We didn’t get any trick or treaters… which is dissopointing but not unexpected as I wouldn’t walk down our driveway either.
Miss you all!
