I forgot to mention that on Sunday, January 13 Steven and I went to the Getty Center to see the exhibit Medieval Treasures, on loan from the Cleveland Museum. This week has already been filled with instruments. Yesterday was the first day of the recorder class I’ll be teaching, with almost 150 students total. I spent this morning doing a recruitment at another school where recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and trombone classes will start in two weeks. Tomorrow is the first day of classes at a private school with violin, cello, flute, clarinet, trumpet and trombone. The other two schools are both public schools part of the LA Unified School District. I am feeling really fulfilled being able to do my own thing on the oboe a little, teach a little, do some errands… it’s turning out to be great! Tomorrow night I fly out to Florida and get back on Tuesday.
