Dog Park
Last weekend we took Apollo to an off-leash dog park – it was the first day of no rain, and he was about to get groomed later that day. We got him acclimated to the place on the small/timid dog side, where he was the only one. Since it was so nice out, there were probably 20 dogs in the larger pen next door. We brought him over, and before we could even take the leash off he was rushed by several big dogs. Most of them were overly excited but friendly, but there was a boxer who was literally biting and jumping all over Apollo. Apollo was strangling himself with his leash trying to get away, while the owner of the boxer did nothing. I was able to get through the dogs and rescue Apollo with the boxer biting my jeans. Needless to say, Apollo’s first adventure at the dog park was more like a nightmare. We took him back over to the other side, and ran him around a bit to try to have a little fun.
Here are some pictures from the day with me and Jessi cheering up Apollo. There are also pictures of the bright green grass and plants on the mountains – it’s amazing what a little rain in the desert can do!
