Audition report

Yvonne Victoria

So I’m back from Chicago, it was a rather whirlwind trip but I did have a good time seeing my friend Yvonne. I got the Chicago tour from the L, which I actually really enjoyed, and saw the huge lake that looks to me like a ocean! The architecture in Chicago is beautiful, and Monday was amazing 80 degree weather.

Tuesday was more of the Chicago weather I had been expecting – windy, overcast, and a high of 49 degrees. My audition was on just English Horn, and I thought I did pretty well although my reed started getting weird towards the end. I didn’t get advanced, and so Yvonne and I went to the Chicago Symphony Hall and store. Then I headed to the airport to come on home.

All in all, I am glad I went, but there weren’t too many revelations like the last audition. I also wasn’t really nervous for this one, but I think I inwardly didn’t feel as comfortable on the repertoire.
