All is lost!
I am ragged, tired, and we have not had food nor drink in 2 days. This perilous journey was much more dangerous than expected. What provisions we started with only lasted a few days… I am digging in the couch looking for crumbs, or, a long abandoned M&M. Of this I must be quick – Apollo has a hungry, wild look in his eye…
Victoria needs to return!!

I survived the weekend. I was fortunate enough that the Huckles took pity and granted me a reception. It is my third day alone, with only my languid companion, Apollo, to keep me company. My provisions are holding up thus far. More to come on my journey.

Today is the first full day of my week-long journey of bachelorhood. The atmosphere is filled with excitement and nervous anticipation. I have to wonder if my instincts of survival have diminished living the last three years in luxury. I find comfort in my companion, the fiercesom Apollo, whose instincts and strength I will rely on. The week ahead is long, but I have been prepared…only time shall tell….

It seems like when I look back at the past week or so, all I can think of is this darn cold I’ve been plagued with. But actually, we had an eventful weekend.
Friday night we got to visit with Jessi and go to dinner, which is always lovely. Saturday we saw the movie Wall-e, which was ADORABLE. It was so sweet, but also had a rather pointed social commentary (for a Disney movie). In the end, I’m sure every adult and child that watched it left with the feeling that we shouldn’t spoil our planet or become fat and lazy. Good morals
Sunday I played in church, and even though I felt long-suffering with my bad cold, Steven says it was some of the best playing I’ve done in church. Go figure. After church we had lunch with Brian and Stephanie, and then drove to Thousand Oaks to see “Singin’ In The Rain,” a musical based on the movie. We were guests of the orchestra contractor, and had a wonderful time meeting people and seeing a really stellar production. They had REAL RAIN on stage – when can you say you’ve ever seen real rain on stage?!?!? Very impressive.
Steven flew to NYC on Monday for a meeting on Tuesday, and comes back tonight. The puppy and I have tried to entertain ourselves, but we were very lonely. Yesterday I visited with Heather and Dave, and we played Wii sports games and Rockband (I was the drummer!) so long that I am sore today.
Friday I fly to Las Vegas to meet up with my parents. We are hoping that Steven is able to come too, but that is also the opening night of the Olympics, which has been a big project for him. Be sure to check out the official NBC Olympics page and watch the Opening Ceremonies this Friday!
