Christmas 2008 Part Four – Tallahassee, New Years and the drive home

Bryan has to be the happiest baby ever
We left to begin the drive home to California on New Years Eve, and spent the holiday in San Antonio.
Apollo was doing his best to get us to let him in the front seat by being adorable!
A semi-truck flipped over on I-10 in Texas, so we spent some time getting to know the other travelers on the road – it was Texas, so everyone was friendly!
During the drive through Texas on New Years Day we saw several patches of burned grass that was still smoking… not sure if it was from fireworks the night before….
We spent that night in Tucson, Arizona – One of the more interesting landmarks in the area was Picacho Peak.
The most exciting part about passing through Phoenix was the outlet mall we stopped at, where I ordered a pantry full of new Tupperware!!
Welcoming us back to California were miles and miles of wind farms, with the snow on the mountains in the distance.
By this time I had given in and let Apollo ride on my lap. Here he is looking pitiful so I won’t put him back in the back seat!
The final mileage to our house in Glendale, California for the entire trip was 5,693 miles!

Wow, what a trip! It looks like you guys had a great time. I can’t believe how out of touch I am with Philip. I didn’t realize or had forgotten that he is married. And I didn’t know he has a daughter. She is so adorable. Maybe someday I’ll get to see both of you in person again. Love ya!
