February
Sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve done a blog. As usual, things are staying busy.
A couple of weeks ago I was asked to do a recording session at the last minute. It was a really interesting experience doing just woodwind tracking in a real studio in Hollywood. It was for several songs for an upcoming CD by Ray Vega, a singer with a well known song in 1997. (see the video here) It was a lot of fun working with the producer and the singer, but it was really challenging trying to play exactly the way they wanted. It also lasted almost 5 hours, which was more than I had anticipated.
Valentine’s Day came and went, and I have to confess, I forgot to get my husband a card.
He now gets to hold it over my head (for a little while, anyway) that I forgot him on Valentine’s Day. We hadn’t planned to do much, and ended up having a nice dinner out. We spent time with the puppy during the break in the rain by exploring Griffith Park. I also fell out of a tree, simply because I’m an idiot. One more thing for Steven to make fun of me for.
I’ve been playing with a couple local symphonies this month (some better than others) which is keeping me busy. I’m also working to plan a studio recital for my students in April, which I’m very excited about!
My Dear Victoria, how wonderful you have these opportunities to record and play and teach. I am so proud of you..It sounds like you are busy most of the time….that is a good thing. You are coming to Florida to play in a play is another wonderful t hing. Keep up the good work. love grandma Wanda
