Spring Recital 2009
Jun 8th 2009VictoriaNews and Updates
My recital was on Saturday, June 6, and I am happy to say that it went really well!
Out friends have a large “great room” which was the setting for the recital, and it made for a cozy and intimate event. Kimo Smith, the organist from our church, was my fabulous accompanist (I worked him pretty hard).
I also had two chamber music pieces; one was a beautiful Bach aria from a cantata with soprano Reba Berdakin.
The other was a new quartet piece with my woodwind quartet Back Room Woodwind Quartet. We actually did the premiere of Michael Kibbe’s quartet Kalimba Madness, which was adorable but pretty tricky. The composer is an oboist I know from San Fernando Valley Symphony, and I was glad to have him attend and hear his work!
Heather and Dave Huckle were invaluable with their help in setting up, etc. and helping to make it a success.
We made an audio recording and a short video, I’ll see about getting those posted at some point.
